Kyla Ostler, aka The Pearl Scout, grew up in Parker, CO and studied Fine Art at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She graduated with her BFA and then spent 10 years in the hospitality industry learning the value of service, hard work and teamwork, as well as continuing education. In 2016, Kyla followed her heart and began pursuing her love of jewelry full time- working in almost every facet of the jewelry industry over the next several years. She received her Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America in 2023 and started The Pearl Scout the same year.
Scouting for and singing the praises of vintage and antique jewelry is her passion- the history, the craftsmanship, and the sustainability of revitalizing an existing piece bring her joy. Kyla lives outside Denver with her family, 2 rescue dogs, a myriad of gems and minerals and a nice collection of house plants.
