A blue sapphire

where it comes from matters

Precious metals, diamonds and gemstones can carry real costs for the land and the people who mine them. As jewelers, we think it's on us to know where our materials come from.

Here's how we source, and who we trust to do it with us.

A handful of rough sapphires

the land gives every stone its character

We're proud to be a retail partner of Terroir Gems, who bring traceable, artisanal sapphires from small-scale mines in natural colors and unique shapes. Their cutters follow each stone's natural form instead of forcing it into a traditional shape.

Browse Terroir stones loose in our gallery, or have one set in a custom piece.

Origins include Umba Valley and Winza, Tanzania · Garbatula, Kenya · Ambondromifehy, Madagascar · Nivithigala, Sri Lanka

how we source

stones with a story

We buy from miners, cutters and dealers who share where their stones come from, so we can share it with you.

recycled metals

Recycled metals from refiners we know, and less reliance on newly mined metal.

lab-grown, with care

Lab-grown diamonds and gems are a good option, as long as we know the lab and how it works.

repurpose what you have

Family stones and old gold can become something new. We melt, reset and remake right here.
